Location
The villas are located about 7 kilometers from the center of Ubud, in the friendly village of Kemenuh, banjar Tengkulak Kelod.
The villas owners, management & staff enjoy a superb relationship with the local community.

During the Villa opening ceremony held in December 2009. More than 200 members of the community participated in the ceremony in various roles. All the performers were from the local village. With Ubud lifestyle almost at your doorstep, you can enjoy the dances, arts, crafts, restaurants and nightlife.

Tengkulak Kelod is an exceptional community, which can be branded as “Bali as it once was”.
The Villas face more than 1 km uninterrupted rice fields, with a small temple on the right side. The only sounds you can hear are the ones of nature, traditional agricultural activities and the laughter of children.
From time to time, you will be entertained by a procession of ducks going through the rice fields or by a flock of white birds, by the way, Tengkulak is known for its craft of sculpted and painted ducks and other birds.

The Villas
The mandate to the architects (Rick McBride and Jeffrey Loh of Cita Duta Artistry in Jakarta and Bali) was to design a complex of 2 villas and a common facilities center, with modern traits which could become a part of the landscape and perfectly blend in its natural surroundings. They matched expectationsand more.
The result is a combination of contemporary facilities and technology with touches of Bali’s traditions, arts and crafts present in every detail. Particular attention to material and colors – with extensive usage of Indonesia’s wood and natural stones. The color scheme was designed to give a sense of fusion with the surrounding landscape.

The Villas
Griya Aditi is a 3 bedrooms villa. The goddess Aditi is the goddess of wisdom and consciousness.
In Griya Aditi, you will find the dominant theme to be the story of the Ramayana, Sculptures and carvings depict several key figures and events in the Ramayana.

The Bedrooms
Master bedroom faces the rice fields with the infinity swimming pool on the side. It has en-suite bathtub and outdoor shower. It also has a private garden area with a daybed.
The 2 other bedrooms on ground floor face the swimming pool. Both have indoor showers.

The Dining and Living Area
The dining / living room (60 sq meters) faces south towards the swimming pool and rice fields.
A family room (with TV) and games faces the back of the property.
All rooms have air conditioning and fan

The kitchen is used for final preparation of the dishes before serving. It has a refrigerator, a microwave oven, and a water dispenser.

Swimming pool is tiled with natural stones coming from Java

Bale is used for giving massages, thanks to an agreement with one group of traditional massage ladies

The third building houses a garage for 2 cars, the main kitchen, used for initial preparation of dishes, a separate area for storage of food, the laundry, an office for the villa manager and a bedroom used for staff, if they need to stay overnight. It is sometimes called “back of the house”, in our case it is more like the “center of the house”.
The villas are fitted with modern facilities, telephone interconnection to all rooms as well as to kitchens, the office and security post, wireless broadband internet and cable TV.

Note about broadband internet : please remember that you are in Bali and nothing goes at light speed here, internet connection is not an exception. It is good enough to be on e-mail, browse the net or even do a video call through Skype™, however, please do not expect to be able to play live video game over the net. But this is probably not why you come to Bali, anyway.
We have ample electrical power to feed all the above and to keep the villas cool, and a 30 kVA generator for the occasional power cuts, which are part of the life, here.

Staff
The villas’ staff consists of 11. 1 cook, 6 waiters and room attendants, 1 pool attendant and maintenance man, 1 gardener, 2 night watchmen, all recruited in the neighboring villages.
Through an agreement with a local group of drivers, we provide 1 car per villa for the entire duration of the guests’ stay. Their cars are new generation Kijangs, comfortably seating up to 6 adults. Their knowledge of Bali, including the most remote and “off the beaten track” roads is exceptional.

Villa Griya Aditi Rates per night

The rest of year, excluding Easter

    * High Season: US$ 480

Amala is surrounded by padi fields on the edge of a valley overlooking the river Wos, situated on 2400 sq metres of land.

Amala in Sanskrit means purity. During your stay at Amala, you will discover this purity in the surrounding landscape and way of life that surrounds the Villa. The charm of the padi fields of Keliki is mesmerizing; and the soft murmur of the river Wos in the valley below calming. To top all this, the enchanting sunsets across the horizon of Ubud are unforgettable.

With five en-suite guestrooms, it can accommodate up to 10 people comfortably. Made up of two houses connected by a walkway, the main house overlooks the 20m pool and padi fields, while the valley house sits on the edge of a ridge which over looks the lush valley of the river Wos.

At Amala we hope that you will enjoy the comfort of a home away from home, combined with the level of service and facilities to match any luxury hotel.

Location

Amala is situated on the edge of a padi field, overlooking the river Wos. It sits between the villages of Sebali and Keliki , in the province of Tegallalang, Ubud. It is an hour’s ride from Bali’s Ngurah Rai airport, and only a 15 minute car ride from the famed center of art and culture – Ubud.

Staying in Ubud is a unique experience. Ubud offers a stay punctuated with the simple pleasures of watching her children practice their dancing or gamelan playing at the temple; craftsman patiently honing their talents; farmers chasing their herd of ducks down the streets. A stay in Ubud offers the delight of appreciating all that surrounds you in daily life in Bali.

Accommodation

The layout of Amala allows two families with children to holiday very comfortably and with enough living areas to afford adequate privacy. Alternatively it is also a suitable get-away for 4–5 couples to “chill out” in the peaceful and harmonizing atmosphere of Sebali.

On the ground level of the valley house there is a second master bedroom with a indoor bath and shower overlooking the valley as well as a outdoor shower in its own private garden.

Next to this is the TV room with a projector and screen to watch movies or catch the latest news on satellite TV. Alternatively this room is easily converted into another guest room with en-suite bathroom. A veranda fronts these two rooms and allows guests to walk out to the valley garden or have breakfast with the morning sun rising over the valley. A bale sits at the edge of the garden overlooking the valley and rice terraces.

Dining

Our cook will be able to prepare both local and western cuisine. Villa guests are free to discuss with the cook the menu for each meal who will then do the marketing and guests need only pay the cost of the food bought.

Massage and spa treatments can be arranged in the privacy of your room.

Movies can be viewed in our projection room which has facilities for connection to laptops and dvd players .Both the projection room and library have satellite television connection with a varied choice of channels including the BBC & CNN.

Activities

Mountain bikes are available for exploring the unspoilt trails around Ubud. Villa staff will provide maps and guides to places of interest in the area.

Trekking can be arranged with experienced guides.

White water rafting on the Ayung river is a 15 minute car ride away and arrangements can be made by the Villa manager.

The renowned Handara Golf course is approximately 1½ hours away by car and again our Villa manager will be most happy to arrange tee-off of times.

The Elephant Park is a short car ride down the road from Amala where guests can enjoy exciting elephant rides around the Ubud countryside.

Our villa manager is most happy to arrange for sightseeing tours to the rest of Bali, or shopping excursions to Ubud market and the many small shops along the Monkey Forest Road. There are also a number of notable Art galleries to view.

Amala Design

Amala’s design was conceived by Robin Bimantoro of Triloka Architects with the Interior by Sari Sutera Design. In close consultation with the owners, they came up with a concept that imbibed the basic traditions of Balinese architecture with the simple lines of modern design.

In the heart of Bali, perched on a venerated spur of land at the confluence of two rivers, is the stunning hideaway known as Villa Vajra. Designed by the internationally acclaimed architect, Guy Morgan, this modern, spacious villa sleeps up to eight guests and offers the ultimate in luxurious accommodation within a totally private and exclusive, close-to-nature setting.

No.of Bedrooms: 3. District of Bali: Ubud. Total Living Area: 8,000 m2. Total Area of Grounds: 188,67 m2

The property and gardens are landscaped into the slopes of the steep valley, and the approach, via a raised wooden walkway through undisturbed rice fields, gives no clue to the remarkable design of the villa, or the breathtaking views of the jungle and river gorge.

Constructed with high quality local materials including “alang alang” thatch, Palimanan stone and teak wood; the property combines the very best of Balinese architectural elements with contemporary flair, elegant finishes and modern amenities. The villa presents a blend of outdoor living and air-conditioned comfort.

Villa Vajra is named after the quintessential symbol of Vajrayana Buddhism, a five-pronged ritual object often employed in conjunction with a bell. The Vajra is represented by a carving in a freestanding stone at the main entrance.

Every room and corner of the property has the effect of producing gasps of surprise and delight as guests view it for the first time. The villa is comprised of two buildings, linked on the upper level by a lotus pond and pergola. A serene Buddha statue stands within the lotus pond and white thunbergia cascades over the pergola-covered walkway leading to the Master Bedroom and Studio. The Master Bedroom is characterized by elegant furniture, teak floors, and glass on three sides to maximize the awesome views of the jungle and river valley. Sliding glass doors open on to a timber balcony, fringed by a food forest of fruit trees; the built-in bench seat is an ideal place to absorb the natural surroundings and listen to the ceaseless gurgle of the Ooz River as it coils its way through the deep gorge below. The en-suite garden bathroom is dominated by a large black terrazzo bathtub, creating a strong contrast against the white Palimanan stone floor. A black terrazzo wash stand supports a stylish chrome washbowl, and the shower is flanked by shelves and cabinets. Everything possible has been considered for the comfort of the guests; the luxurious open-air bathtub is sheltered by a thatched canopy, and privacy is maintained by a wall. Wooden shutters, like hatches within the wall, can be opened to reveal a view of the rice fields, and a larger hatch beside the bathtub offers the delightful alternative vista of the jungle. Tree ferns, birds’ nest ferns, and stepping stones across a star-grass lawn complete the natural deccor of this charming garden bathroom.

Colourful local artwork adorns the walls of a passage way leading to the Studio on the same floor. Situated on the western side of the villa, this room boasts a panoramic view of the rice fields, and features a pitched roof, a cream terrazzo floor and more built-in cupboards and storage space. The Studio doubles as an additional bedroom and includes an en-suite toilet and shower room with a marble floor and black terrazzo washstand.

The adjacent building, across the lotus pond, holds the Study, with a flat screen satellite TV, DVD player and a quality sound system for the entertainment of the guests. This room also doubles as an additional bedroom with an en-suite shower room and a stone terrace that appears to almost float within the gently swaying fields of rice. Cushioned seating is built into the low wall encircling the terrace, thereby creating a comfortable place for relaxing with a book while enjoying a coffee or a cocktail at sunset. A cathedral window in the Study room overlooks the main living and dining area on the lower level, which is accessed by an external cantilevered staircase.

It is upon reaching this lower level that visitors will be able to fully appreciate the unique design of the villa. The gargantuan, 12 x 8 metre, living and dining pavilion extends the full height of the building and features a marble floor underneath a vaulted roof supported by coconut-wood pillars on stone plinths. Furnished with rattan chairs and sofas, pendulous steel globe lanterns and Buddhist welcome statues, this pavilion represents open living at its very best, and is a fantastic venue for parties, receptions and functions. A small aviary is situated to one side, and a large hatch links the dining area with the fully equipped kitchen, where the cook will prepare a range of delicious Indonesian and Western meals. Next door is a toilet and a shower, and the laundry and staff quarters are situated at the back. The adjoining semi-circular timber deck overhangs the lush river valley and provides an alternative romantic dining area. Living jackfruit trees grow through holes that have been cut in the floor of the deck, creating a solution that blends style with nature without threatening the environment. A further example of environmental conservation is the water recycling system that has been devised for the 8 x 3 metre infinity edge swimming pool, the outdoor Jacuzzi, and the graceful cascade flowing down from the lotus pond above. Another Buddha statue rests within an alcove behind the cascade.

The Guest Room is situated at pool level, within the building that houses the Master Bedroom and Studio. Furnished with a dreamy four-poster bed, the Guest Room features a Palimanan stone floor, windows with sliding doors facing the valley, a dressing room, and a garden bathroom with a black terrazzo tub, shower and toilet.

Rustic stone steps lead down from the swimming pool to the lowest level, past an outdoor shower, a bed of beautiful white peace lilies, and a small lotus pond contained within a stone pot. At this level there is an open terrace overlooking a grassy meadow within the valley. Another wooden deck juts out to one side and a narrow path leads down to the river past a small temple and a coconut grove. On one side is a secret sanctuary, a traditional open pavilion, known as a “bale”, with a thatched roof and a raised teak floor scattered with cushions for relaxing. Even here, guests can enjoy music from the sound system, which boasts eight speakers directed towards every corner of the property. On the other side, a fully equipped gym provides the facility to maintain a daily fitness routine while appreciating the wonderful views.

The Master Bedroom, Guest Room, Studio and Study each feature individually controlled air-conditioning units and powerful ceiling fans to keep the rooms pleasantly cool. There are .telephone lines for IDD calls and in-house calls in each room, and also safety deposit boxes. At night the villa takes on a different persona, with cleverly concealed lighting. Guests will appreciate the fresh cool air, and will be serenaded by a chorus of frog song to the accompaniment of ritual music from the village temples and the constant murmur of the river.

There is a barbeque terrace at the front of the villa beside the rice fields and parking space for up to six vehicles. Due to the steep hillside elevation, the villa is not recommended for disabled people or young children.

Villa Vajra is situated in the quiet traditional village of Sebali in the district of Kaliki, an hour and fifteen minutes’ drive from Ngurah Rai international airport, and about ten minutes’ drive from the cultural town of Ubud. This remarkable town is Bali’s centre for fine arts, dance and music, and the surrounding villages are home to Bali’s most accomplished painters, dancers, musicians and carvers. It is located 300 metres above sea level in the foothills of the central mountain range; this gives it a fresher, more pleasant climate than the southern coastal regions. The numerous art galleries in Ubud display traditional and modern work; the museums showcase the island’s rich history, and the shops and the market stalls sell handicrafts, jewellery, woodcarvings, textiles, paintings and antiques. There are many, well-presented, cultural performances staged in the town, in particular the Hindu epic, the Ramayana; also the Kecak Dance, the Fire Dance, the Monkey Dance and the Legong Dance. The countryside around Ubud is particularly beautiful, with an abundance of trails offering memorable walks through the peaceful rice fields.

Villa Sati is a one bedroom villa located in the quiet traditional village of Sebali in the district of Kaliki, an hour and fifteen minutes’ drive from Ngurah Rai international airport, and about ten minutes’ drive from the cultural town of Ubud. The location is convenient for tours all over the island and is only a forty-minute drive from the coast.

Introduction

Enveloped deep within rural Bali, yet only ten minutes drive from the cultural town of Ubud, Villa Sati appears to float upon the encompassing rice fields. This one-bedroom hideaway, complete with plunge pool, takes its name from the Buddhist word for wisdom or mindfulness. It can be rented independently, or as an annex to the neighbouring Villa Vajra.

Villa Sati is comprised of two thatched roof pavilions set within a courtyard and linked by a pool deck. The main pavilion incorporates two living areas on two levels, and features an abundance of teakwood and glass. With glass walls on three sides, it presents stunning views of the rice fields, affording guests the opportunity to witness time-honoured methods of agriculture. The area is a birdwatchers paradise and various trails offer enjoyable walks. Caring staff with a profound knowledge of the locale will fulfil their duties with enthusiasm and smiles, and prepare some delightful meals. The villa has been lovingly furnished by the owners with custom designed furniture.

Living & Dining Room

The air-conditioned, downstairs living and dining room is characterised by a warm teakwood floor and contemporary furniture, including a sofa and two chairs. Small bronze Buddha statues and artefacts hint at the serene ambience of the villa, and a desk and chair overlook the rice fields. Guests with their own laptop computers will be able to make use of the WiFi wireless Internet connection, and will be inspired by the awesome view while writing e-mails to the folks back home. There is also an IDD telephone, fax and copier. A teak unit with drawers and shelves houses a LCD multi-channel cable TV, a DVD player and quality sound system. There is a library of DVDs so that guests can enjoy a wide selection of movies. The rustic dining table is tucked next to a window and complemented by a cushioned bench seat.

Kitchen

An opaque glass door slides open to reveal a small, yet well-equipped, kitchen. Neatly tucked away, this is where the cook will prepare delicious meals. There is even the thoughtful provision of a separate staff entrance to ensure that the guests are not disturbed.

Upstairs Sitting Room

A teak staircase leads from the downstairs living room to a cosy, air-conditioned upstairs sitting room positioned on a timber-floored mezzanine. The room features glass windows on three sides, including one wall of glass that can be fully opened to create an open air experience. Every need has been considered with the inclusion of a fly screen. Guests will delight in the use of the telescope, positioned to magnify the view of the beautiful rural landscape and the lush vegetation that lines the nearby river valley. The sitting room is furnished with two deeply cushioned sofas, which can be converted into a double bed for extra guests, if required. There is also another desk and chair, a cupboard and a coffee table.

Halfway down the staircase is a guest bathroom complete with rainshower, washbasin and toilet.

Bedroom & en-suite Bathroom

The self-contained bedroom and en-suite bathroom is a single storey pavilion, located poolside, just across the courtyard. Sliding glass doors lead from the pool deck into the spacious air-conditioned bedroom, complete with a teak floor and a soaring thatched roof. There is also a ceiling fan, which creates a pleasant breeze on the occasions when guests elect to leave the doors open. The room is furnished with a canopied queen-size bed, fitted wardrobes, bedside tables, and cushioned water-hyacinth chairs. The attractive deccor features a deep purple wall behind the bed, complemented by cream walls on two sides and some shimmering artwork. Stereo speakers have been installed in the roof, the sound system is located in the living pavilion but music can be controlled in the bedroom via a remote device. A safe deposit box is positioned in the wardrobe.

The adjoining open-air bathroom is a study in romance, dominated by an oversized Jacuzzi bathtub, resting beneath a pergola dripping in cascading thunbergia flowers. This delightful walled garden bathroom is totally private, and features a dark grey granite floor, a floating vanity unit in teak and terrazzo fitted with shelves and drawers, and a sculptured river-stone washbasin. There is also a glass shower cubicle housing a tropical rainshower, and a toilet positioned in an alcove. Colourful artwork and a bamboo and orchid garden complete the picture.

Plunge Pool and Courtyard

The 6.2 x 3.3 metre plunge pool is 1.3 metres in depth. It is fed by a waterfall cascading over a random rock wall, thereby ensuring that guests will always enjoy the tranquil sound of running water. Lined with cornflower-blue tiles, it is flanked on two sides by a timber deck, and guarded by a Buddha head stone-carving on the wall. The deck is furnished with two sunbeds. In the far corner of the sunny paved courtyard is a table with four chairs, sheltered by a pergola, and ideal for barbeques and alfresco dining.

This beautiful, very-spacious-villa on the edge of Sebali, a pretty village just outside Ubud, is a luxurious haven from which to enjoy both the peace and the delights of Bali. The views from the house are of typical rice terraces and, in the distance, spectacular Mt Agung and the dramatic mountains towards the north of the island. We have been careful to be environmentally sensitive – green – with many eco-features including solar power and water heating, and a beautiful garden with organically grown fruit trees.

Villa Sebali is just about 10 minute’s drive from the centre of Ubud, the cultural and artistic heart of Bali. All on good roads, half the drive is through typical villages, beautiful rice fields and tropical forest, and half past interesting art galleries, antique and craft shops, and restaurants. Ubud is about one and a quarter hours drive from the airport.

The house is built round three sides of a grassy, flower-ringed courtyard, with the fourth side an infinity pool looking down over a cascade of lotus and water-lily ponds to the orchard. It has four very special bedroom suites and combines the luxury of air-conditioned bedrooms with the delight of open air living.

There is a fully equipped kitchen, a library/games room and a table tennis room.

We have included many environmentally-friendly features, from the thick, alang-alang roofs which provide wonderful insulation, to solar powered water heating and electricity systems, and natural waste water treatment.

The garden is lavishly planted with many sweet-smelling trees and flowers. Beside the pool is a pretty bale, a traditional grass-roofed pavilion for shaded relaxation, while below it a path winds through the lotus ponds down to the orchard with its wide range of tropical fruit trees. As these mature, guests will be able to pick their own choice of fruits.

The villa is managed locally by the incomparable Rita Dewi and has four full time staff, two in the house and two gardeners/security. Our house staff will prepare your breakfasts, maintain the house and rooms immaculately, and be on hand to aid and advise you.

There are many things to do and see – artistic, sporting, cultural, spiritual and purely self-indulgent – within easy reach.
But also, green, quiet, fragrant Villa Sebali is a wonderful place just to be.

The house is approached by a tree fern-shaded path leading from the front courtyard with space for three or four cars, to a bridge over a lotus pool and into the main building

Dining area: spacious and equipped for up to 12 at table. It is open to the garden at one side and has two steps down to the living area.
At the side is the Kitchen: fully equipped with large fridge-freezer and permanent chilled drinking water.

Living area: an enormous room open to the garden with ample seating and many art works.

All the above areas have rich terra-cotta coloured floor tiles, a lovely combination of warmth for the eye and coolness for the room.

Guest cloakroom and WC.

Stairs lead from the living area to Sky bedroom suite: vast, with a fantastic cathedral ceiling and flower-edged terraces facing all four points of the compass with views to die for! A large dressing area leads to the bathroom which is partly open air with wash basin, WC, bath, separate shower and a small garden. One of its four terraces is covered and has seating for relaxing and admiring the garden and view.

From the living area a lobby leads to the south wing with Forest bedroom suite: equipped with twin beds which can also be joined to make one king size bed. The dressing area leads to the shower room with wash basin and separate WC. A door leads through to the

Library: an enchanting rotunda which can also be reached directly by steps from the garden. Equipped with flat screen TV, books, games and comfortable seating, this room can either be used as a sitting room for the Forest Bedroom, or as a communal room for all guests.

Again from the living area, a short path leads over the lotus pool to the independent Sunset bedroom suite: This is another generous room with cathedral ceiling and a queen sized bed. The spacious dressing area leads through to the bathroom with basin, WC, shower and garden. It has its own pretty patio.

Across the courtyard and opposite the library is another independent building, Sunrise bedroom suite: As the name suggests, this huge room with its magnificent ceiling and king size bed faces east, towards Mt Agung, and has double doors opening onto a raised deck shaded by a flower-festooned pergola. Steps lead down to the pool and courtyard. There is a big dressing area leading through to the biggest bathroom of all which, again, is partly open to the sky and has its own garden. It is equipped with bath, basin, shower and separate WC.

All the bedrooms have mosquito nets and full air-conditioning, though the house is designed to optimise cooling: all the rooms are shaded by the deep eaves of the alang-alang roofs, and big windows allow refreshing air to flow through freely. There are ceiling fans in all rooms including the living areas.

Additional beds can be supplied, and there is also a very large comfortable daybed in the living area which would make an excellent extra bed. Guests who like the idea of sleeping under the stars could even sleep on the bale!

The Basement is reached by steps from the garden and is a very large room with table tennis table and space to store extra furniture, suitcases etc.

Staff accommodation is situated under the front garden, cleverly cooled by its grass roof. It has its own entrance from the front courtyard car parking area.

The villa is built on almost 3000sq.m. (3/4 acre) so the gardens are generous and have been beautifully planted by a top professional and are maintained on organic principles.

Beyond the courtyard and pool, a series of voluptuous ponds echoing the neighbouring rice fields and planted with lotus and water lilies cascades down to the orchard, and pretty paths wind between them. The orchard is planted with, among other fruits: avocados, pineapples, mangoes, papayas, bananas, jack fruit, durian, nutmeg, lemons and limes. There is also a herb garden for keen cooks.

The infinity swimming pool is 12m. x 4m. plus a side sitting area. For relaxing there are garden reclining chairs and big sunshades as well as the pretty bale. There is a built-in barbeque adjacent to the bale for al fresco cooking and dining.

Services

Staff:
Villa Sebali’s local manager is Rita Dewi, a famous Balinese dancer. She has excellent English and can help with any problems and special requests. She will be sure to come to the villa to meet you and ensure that all is well.
Our senior house staff person is Made (pronounced Made) a well educated young man who also has very good English. As well as having considerable hotel experience, Made has run a tour company for individual travellers in Bali so can help with suggestions and plans for things to see and do.
There is an excellent supermarket just 10 minutes away which has a huge range of foods, both European and Asian, and an organic section. For the adventurous, the market in Ubud provides all manner of local produce.

Villa Pantulan overlooks verdant rice fields and Mount Batukaru in the quiet, unspoiled village of Lodtunduh, three kilometers south of Ubud. From the moment our gates are opened, you enter a world of enchantment, seclusion and tranquility, far from the noisy, crowded beach hotels and busy roads of Bali.

The open environment of Villa Pantulan is an ever-changing scene depending on the season. The rice fields glimmer in shades of green and brown, and at sunset, when the sun descends behind the tree line, the frogs and crickets begin their nightly symphony and the mountain air brings a cool breeze.

Villa Pantulan comprises four pavilions, an artists studio and a meditation/massage bale. All buildings have traditional alang alang roofs (thatched), wood and terrazzo floors. The five bedrooms, which sleep ten comfortably, have sliding louvered and glass doors that open up completely to allow the cool mountain air to circulate and all rooms have ceiling fans.

The villa is built around several water features including a reflecting pond, lily pond, swimming pool and a small bamboo forest waterfall. It is well suited for small weddings, a health/yoga retreat, or a corporate team seeking privacy and luxury.

We take great pride in the beauty of our home and have furnished it with many exquisite works of art both modern and antique. Great care has been taken to provide our guests with as many amenities as possible. Beautiful Balinese cotton kimonos and slippers are available for your comfort and to take home as a souvenir of Villa Pantulan.

Pavilions

The Pantulan Pavilion includes a living room, dining room, gourmet kitchen, library, entertainment room and bathroom. All spaces are connected by a soaring alang alang roof and walkways to each separate pavilion offering panoramic views to the rest of the house and the rice fields beyond.

Our gourmet kitchen is fully equipped to allow our staff to create memorable meals for your pleasure, offering both European and Balinese meals upon request. We also offer fine Australian wines, as well as a selection of beers and soft drinks. Breakfast is included in your package.

The Dining Room

The dining room is an extension of the kitchen dominated by a five meter mirbau wood table. Seating sixteen people comfortably, it overlooks the reflecting pond on one side and the bamboo waterfall on the other.

The Living Room

The living room is open to the rice fields and the lotus pond. The comfortable terrazzo seating is covered in cushions decorated in navy and gray Balinese cotton. A small table situated on the rice field side gives splendid views in the morning while taking breakfast, or for playing games on a hot afternoon. Beside the table, a beautiful Javanese marriage bull and cart looks as if it were arriving from the sawah. Dominating the center wall is a stunning painting by local Bali resident Wolfgang Widmoser.

Above the living room, the library contains a PC and printer for your convenience. As of now, there is no internet connection available at Villa Pantulan. However, there are many excellent connections in Ubud, ten minutes away. It is also a comfortable place to read in privacy.

Our entertainment room includes a satellite television, DVD, music system and a Playstation. There are over 200 DVDs, as well as many CDs for your entertainment. Comfortably decorated in shades of green, the surround seating and futon mattress make it hard to leave this comfortable viewing room.

The bathroom conveniently situated next to the entertainment room is also used as a pool bathroom. Like all the bathrooms at Villa Pantulan, it has its own exterior garden.

The Lotus Pavilion

The Lotus Pavilion is a two-story structure comprising sitting room, bedroom and bathroom. On the ground floor, a stunning wall carving depicting village life adorns the back wall. A small sofa, two chairs, a coffee table and a sofa table are covered in brown Balinese cotton. On the table and long benches are fine examples of Balinese glass and traditional wooden boat.

Upstairs, a large bedroom overlooks the rice field and swimming pool. A beautiful white stone Buddha head decorates the back of the bed, and delicate colored organza is lit from behind to cast a beautiful light on the bed at night. This is a truly romantic bedroom and as the sun sets, there is a magnificent view from this bedroom.

The bathroom includes a waterfall and a koi fish pond next to the outdoor shower. Two porcelain bowls sit on top of terrazzo counters and are well-lit by Italian light fixtures. A high wall, covered in fern and flowering plants, gives you complete privacy.

The Temple Garden Pavilion

The Temple Garden Pavilion has two bedrooms, both decorated in shades of tropical green and deep sea blue. In each room, a queen size bed is surrounded by a white mosquito net emphasizing the dramatic bed linens, cushions and curtains made from Balinese cotton. The lower bedroom extends out to the Temple garden, koi pond and orchid garden. The upper bedroom offers splendid views of the rice field and an overall view of the house and orchid garden below.

The bathroom on the ground floor is a striking bamboo and white pebble garden designed around the outdoor shower. Two porcelain bowls set on terrazzo counters and Italian lighting fixtures make this a stunning bathroom.

The Rice Field Pavilion

Behind the Lotus Pavilion, tucked away discretely behind the wall, is the Rice Field Pavilion. A two bedrooms structure decorated in shades of Irish green, Balinese red and black add dramatic flair to an already dramatic setting.

Each bedroom opens out onto a different view from a small wooden deck, on one side the Temple Garden and on the other, the rice fields. Each bedroom has a queen sized bed canopied in white mosquito net and a beautiful Balinese Ikat design. All beds are carefully lit from inside by beautiful Italian lamps. A small table and chair for writing postcards or letters and a mirror complete this room. On the walls, are drawings and paintings by local artists.

Artist Studio T-House

At the north end of the swimming pool is our Artists studio. A two level pavilion designed by Tony Gwilliam. Built on water, it is an ideal place to take tea and admire the rice fields on your doorstep. A small table rises from the middle of the floor Japanese style, enabling you to put your feet in the water on hot afternoons. Upstairs is an office space with a magnificent view of the mountains in the distance.

Massage Bale

At the south end of the pool is a massage/meditation bale. A single storey structure decorated with fine white cotton curtains for privacy. All massage therapists can be booked through our villa manager.

Swimming Pool

Beyond Pantulan Pavilion is the swimming pool. Built for laps, it is twenty-five meters long with an infinity edge flowing towards the rice fields.
